    People are going to Gossip About You till the day you die and there's nothing you can do about it, it's out of your control. The only thing you're in control of, is how you let it affect you.

      Yes. Yes. The gossipers will always be among us. The only control we have is how we choose react. We can feel sorry for them or allow them to stress us out.

    This content is very helpful. As an HR Manager, I am planning a meeting next week with a supervisor to address the behavior of a high-performing employee. Despite the value of her work, she has repeatedly exhibited negative behavior towards other employees and customers. Although she has apologized for her attitude in the past, the pattern persists, necessitating this meeting. I'm glad I watched this to help prepare for our discussion with her.

    • @renegodefroy
      @renegodefroy 29 днів тому

      That's a tough one. It's sad when the gossiper is a top performer. In this case, take a sheet of paper and draw a line down the middle. Put pros and cons on each side. Start listing them to see the balance. One thing is for sure: one toxic employee can ruin the workplace for everyone. It's the kind of negative energy you don't want in the workplace. All of us can have a bad day. But when the behavior is consistent, we need to deal with it quickly. The best solution is to pay for an outside coach to help the top performer. By the way, I have a training on positive attitude that is fun, high energy, and transformational. You might want to consider it. It's a full or half-day training. Go to www.renegodefroy.com to get in touch or send me a DM on LinkedIn www.linkedin.com/in/renegodefroy/.

      I understand. Most leaders in the workplace are not fit for the job. They lack self-awareness. That's why sometimes they are the gossiper who is doing the damage. That means they are not fit to take care of the gossiping. Too bad. By the way, I have an awesome training program on self-awareness and positive attitude that is fun, interactive, and transformational. Mention that to your HR manager. I'm on LInkedIn. one thing i learned is when u trying to confront them in ur work environment, people tells u that ur wrong and its only ur imagination. so u cant confront them once and for all. they will never tell u the truth in ur face because they know they just fuling wrong things about u, but thats what bring them together. i used to be very confident. my town is very small so people knows each other, and even when i left my working place it came with me to the other one. so how u deal with that? people like that gave me social anxiety. hope to get out of that one day.

    3 yeats ago I finally got the job I worked so hard and prayed for. I was really happy and although I joined the senior most position, I was very liberal and friendly with my juniors. But they had other things in mind. They started spreading rumors and it got so bad that everybody at the company turned against me. And I did nothing wrong. Nothing. It affected me so much that I had to leave the job and now I am jobless, have social anxiety and I am so afraid to get another job, or even go out with a group of people cause I am scared that everyone is going to turn against me😅

    I’m at the point at my work that I no longer want to interact with anyone because they just gossip about anything they can. Why is it on me to redirect them? Especially when it’s in the fabric of the culture of my workplace. I am the only one that doesn’t gossip about co workers, my employer, or our clients. I tired in the beginning to shine my light and help move them away from gossiping and then I started getting gossiped about. So now I’m just a gray rock, excluded from everything and still gossiped about, not fun but it also wasn’t fun the other way. I hear what you’re saying overall, but it’s so hard to just cope being treated like this and I haven’t found any effective ways to just be okay with it, quitting seems the only solution

    It does not matter if you praise or use kind words. Almost everyone (esp the young!) start losing screws the moment you criticize them. They will always find reason and make flimsy excuses just to bite back. "Oh so rude!", "It's the way he said it!", "Hurt my feelings huhuhu" , and they will throw insults back at you. Stop being nice. Be straightforward. Be factual. And then send them to their whining areas to make videos of them crying.

      I understand you are speaking from a place of frustration. Unfortunately what you said is reality. However, it's not my reality. It is ALWAYS what you say or think it is. That is a universal law. As a man thinketh, so is he.
